Of a particular call or call? Or total usage time on the phone? For the former, you're most accurate source is your cellular bill. For the later, Settings>General>Usage>Cellular Usage. Note that usage on the phone may not agree with usage on the bill as the bill will only show billable time.
Actually i went to know, my total outgoing minute. Becuase, my price plan limit is 700 minute per month. If over, must need to extra money pay.
Thanks for comments
If you want to know duration of a particular call go to the phone icon tap on that, tap on recent to display recent calls then tap on the arrow on the right of the recent call you want to know about and it mentions duration of call
Most service providers have released an iPhone app that, once linked to your account, will provide usage data just as if you visited your account online.
It is very sad that the minimum requirement to find out the outgoing call duration in a month is not available in iPhone. All other phones in the market have this simple feature and it will be helpful for the people who have limited outgoing call time in a month. I am from Singapore (M1 customer) and not aware of any service provider have the app to check the out going call time for a period.
FYI. I have downloaded an app called call monitor (with plan monitor) for around $4 and the time it calculates is entirely wrong. Is there any other apps (not from the service provider) available with this feature?.
A lot of service providers have short codes to send and then receive back a text about your account.
For example, on a USA AT&T phone, press *646# and you'll get a text back showing your remaining call minute balance for the current billing cycle. *3282# does the same thing for your remaining data useage.
Check your carriers support pages and see what they have, or check on your phone:
Settings -> Phone -> your_carrier Services
The problem is, a phone can't distinguish between free and billable minutes so the timer on a phone will never be accurate. For example, suppose I call customer service for my wireless provider, a free call, and discuss my bill for 30 minutes. That would show up as 30 minutes of outgoing calling on the phone but wouldn't show on my bill.
you can also to get cllular an data monthy usage got to Settings/General/Usage/Cellular Usage/Reset Statistics - at the beginning of a billing period - that will reset your cell and cell data usage to zero - then you can see during the month how much you used that month
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately my service provider in Singapore do not have the facility to check the call duration and I can only see the excess amount charged in my next bill if my outgoing call duration exceeds the free limit.
I am resetting the cellular usage statistics every month to get the total call time (incoming + outgoing) but this is not really useful for me since my incoming call time in a month varies a lot.
I am not concerned about the toll free outgoing calls since I do not use it a lot and even if I use it, I can track it separately.
Is there any appln in itunes can provide the outgoing call duration for a period. I asked many experts and so far not received any worthy feedback. I know if I jail break, then there are some applns which provide accurate outgoing call time for a period. But I am not interested to jailbreak and really disappointed that such a simple feature is not available from Apple.
Thanks for your nice comments,
I am a starhub customer and i feel same problem!!
