godaddy.com isn't Mac compatible?

I see several people use godaddy.com as a host .... but isn't godaddy not Mac compatible?? To use their site directly from a Mac is impossible ... but can you use the iWeb folder to upload onto it? Do you have problems with crazy characters and whatnot?

What makes you think this? A Mac can be used to upload stuff to any server. Character problems can normally be solved by changing settings or adding .htaccess files to your space. Some tips are here:

You can't use a Mac to build a website using THEIR program ... "Website Tonight". I guess that's it. I had to switch over to a PC to use thier web builder. Am I wrong? Or should I say, was their CUSTOMER SERVICE wrong? I wouldn't be surprised since I ran into a million different answers when I ran into problems before ...

Any idea? I guess I'll have to call godaddy ...

I assume that is all true. But it has nothing at all to do with iWeb. That's what this forum is devoted to: using the iWeb program on your Mac to build a site which can be placed on .Mac or any other server.

If you want to use something other than iWeb to build a site, you're in the wrong place.

Well YES, that was the issue.

It's godaddy's web builder that isn't mac compatible. I called and asked. I was worried that ALL of godaddy isn't mac compatible ... I'm new to this! Slowly but surely all my questions are being answered.

So I got a godaddy account for just a month to test it out. I have my domain name. NOW, I've published my iWeb-designed website to a folder ... now how do I get it onto godaddy???

Onward I go ....

Did you read the link provided earlier? You need to get an FTP program if you do not have one. Then go to the Godaddy FAQ section and starting educating yourself on some of this stuff, like this page
