Can you use the same itunes for different ipods?

Im going to be borrowing a friends ipod while on holiday as mine is broken. Can i use her ipod on my itunes without losing her songs/mysongs?

What is the best possible way to transfer my songs to her ipod without anything being lost. Help needed ! Thanks 🙂
