I've been using Tiger for a while. I bought my Macbook Pro in 2007. It just began failing, prompting me to buy a new Macbook Pro. Now I need the smartest way to bring the contents and applications from the old to the new.

Anybody have some advice? …please?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Make bootable clone with CCC or SuperDuper of old Mac on external disk drive.

    Connect external to new Mac

On first boot when it asks if you wish to restore say yes

That will invoke Setup Assitant which will copy everything possible from old Mac to new Mac.
