Any safe botnet checker?
Any safe botnet checker?
If you mean a flashback trojan checker then make sure you install the latest java updates:
Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8
Turn java off anyhow, you don't usually need it.
If you don't want to do these installs then at least go to F_Secure's Flashback Removal Tool web page, download their Flashback trojan detection/removal tool, and follow the instructions you find there.
Has your Mac been infected by a Botnet?
Go here http://botnetchecker.com/ (do not enter any information) and it will tell you.
You will find this User Tip on Viruses, Trojan Detection and Removal, as well as general Internet Security and Privacy, useful:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
The User Tip (which you are welcome to print out and retain for future reference) seeks to offer guidance on the main security threats and how to avoid them, including how to prevent, detect and/or remove the Flashback Trojan.
Thanks. However if you go to http://botnetchecker.com/ you are redirected to http://uscity.net/ but thanks for the other info in particular the DNS codes.
Agree with the OP - something must have gone haywire? There is no botnet checker - just a redirect to uscity.net.
Sorry about that - it worked the other day!
It's a bit off when their own site has been hacked! 😕
