Long charging cable for ipad 2

I am using the cable that came with my new iPad along with a standard, inexpensive, white, 6 foot electrical extension cord. I have had this set up with the original iPad and the new iPad as well. It takes me about 6 hours at most to charge the iPad from about 10% on the battery gauge,

The extension cord cost me about $6 or $7 dollars.

You might want to consider a simple and cheap USB extension cable such as this, especially if you have more than one device and they are not all made by Apple.

[Update: I should add that I have personally used a USB 3 version of such a cable (like this one) for charging an iPad 2, iPhone and an EEE Pad Transformer].

However,it is always good to buy the cable from apple,and try to ignore buying any third party cables.Sometimes it may damage the device.

I just bought the separate replacement charging power supply from walmart (it's apple branded so doesn't really matter where you get it). a 3-4 foot long power cord leading to the brick, then the 2-3 feet from the brick. I can plug my iPad in at the outlet at the foot of the bed and sit in bed and use it comfortably.
