hi all was wanting to take me ipad 2 3g to the states next month can any one tell me what i need to do to make it work over there?
i have a vodaphone micro sim fitted.

If you bought the iPad from Vodafone is is locked to their network.
So you have three choices, get them to unlock the iPad for you, it is free and takes a couple of weeks then you can purchase a US sim (others will be able to advise you of the best plan)
or
Use the iPad in the states and pay the quite high roaming rates of Vodafone.
or
Alternatively turn off cellular data and roaming then only connect to wifi points, the majority of these in the states are free.
Alternatively you can look into a mifi device....a portable wifi hotspot from the cell company. Do they rent or make you buy? that I don't know.
You'll also need a plug adapter
