I recently purchased a second hand iphone4 not jailbroken and i already restored it to factory settings but i can't log in to icloud using my account because it states that "The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone". How can i remove the previous icloud acount from my iphone4? Hope someone could help me on this. Cheers! :)

Unfortunately, you cannot undo what has been done, if three iCloud accounts have been created on your phone you will not be able to create any more. If you haven't already created an iCloud account, you will have to do so on another device or computer.

Thank you for the response. OMG! Is there no other way for me to remove the existing icloud accounts from this phone? Even if i hard reset it thru itunes in my pc? :(
They are not actually on your phone, they have just been created by the phone. As Winston said, just create a new one on another device and then set it up on your phone.

It's not the bes solution I know, but you could ask him to "forget" your device on his itunes account.
This should do the trick.

My dad gave me his old iphone as he got an upgrade. I can't seem to change his icloud account to mine. I'm getting his updated calender and his mail - and there seems to be some confusion between both our accounts. He seems to be acquiring some of my contacts - some of which have names which have led to some probing questions... So basically this needs to be sorted out! How can i delete his account from the iphone but not his whole icloud account? he would not be happy if i did this...

Just go to Settings>iCloud, then select 'Delete Account'. This will remove your dad's account form the phone. It will not delete the account from anywhere else.
Then, just add your iCloud account to your phone in Settings>Mail, Contacts, etc.>Add Account.
