Relocating RSS Feeds

Until recently we hosted our RSS feeds for iTunes U on our mobile me account. As this will cease to be an option we have had to relocate our feeds.

Will users who have subscribed to our feeds be automatically subcribed to the new feeds? Or is there something we could do to enable a seemless transition to the replacement feeds?

There is no function within the iTunes U Public HTML editor to change the adress of any feeds that I can see.

Any advice?

Greetings;

If you currently have Apple Hosted Feeds for your existing iTunes U site, you won't lose that ability with the demise of Mobile Me. iTunes U content is unrelated to Mobile Me. I've attached a link from Apple that addresses the "changing you URL feed" question, should you need it. All the best...

Greetings;

I want to make sure I'm understanding your situation so that I don't mislead you. I'm assuming that you've had your institution's iTunes U site for a while and that when you initially set it up you chose to host your feed through Apple's servers and log in and maintain your site using your Apple ID.

Apple hosted feeds for COLLECTIONS is no longer an option for new iTunes U sites. But for those who already have that ability, nothing will change when Mobile Me goes away. Mobile Me and your iTunes U content are in no way related. You'll still access and maintain your site using Public Site Manager, logging in with you current Apple ID.

Hope this helps! All the best to you...

I know that iTunes U and MobileMe are unrelated.

We do not use APPLE HOSTED FEEDS

We currently use our mobile me account to store/host the RSS feeds that we use for iTunes U. That is iTunes U reads the feed from Mobile Me and displays the content through the iTunes software.

My query is... When MobileMe is no more (has become iCloud), will those RSS feeds still be accessible by myself and iTunes? I do know that websites will no longer be hosted but is this the same for RSS feeds?

Thanks for your time

Your first answer (http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#changing)

has been informative and I have added the NEW FEED REDIRECT to my feeds.

Still not sure about what parts of mobileme will remain. So difficult to find answers that would appear straighforward. Thanks for the email address. I'll certainly use that in future.

Thanks a lot
