Can you navigate my website?

http://woodsshop.com/

I'm a PC user myself so I can't check this out. I have a Mac user client using safari who can't seem to navigate around my website. I've been asking my Host and they haven't been able to help.

He has a new apple computer, and he says ..

when I enter your web site...under "creative builders" when I click on "kits", "plans" "japanese" "about us" or "contact us" my computer freezes...in other words, it just see there, waiting for the site to come up and it never does. No drop down windows or anything, its just that your site does not move from one area to the next smoothly. Now this is on my 6 month new apple computer....and as I said, everwhere else I go, no problems.....

Could some of you please go to my site and see if you have problems with my links Etc? No one else has reported this but then, how would I know?

Hope someone can help :-)

I can view it and the other pages using Safari 3.0.4 and Firefox 3.6. All old browser versions on a 10 year old Mac running OSX 10.4.11 (a 4 generation old OS). In other words, if I can view it with my old stuff you'd expect somebody running something newer should too.

Get your friend's specific computer information and also the browser and version they are using.

Whew, good to know every Mac user isn't having the same problem!

Any ideas why this is happening to him? Any advice I could give him to hopefully resolve this?

He also said...

Joe, google "Japanese gates". Your company is the first link showing. when I click on the link, my computer shows in the "address area" http://woodsshop.com/kits1/kits1.htm and I can't get there, it freezes, doesn't move....I cannot get to your web site, but if I click on the links, below your listing, on google, with Torii gates etc. i can easily access their web sites.

I'm running all older things so maybe it's something to do with the "improvements" on newer computers. 😉

May be.

Problem is I don't have enough technical knowledge to Downgrade 😟 😢

Guess it's the price we have to pay for all this "advanced" technology 😀.

OK Folks this is not good news to me at all. Two out of 4 Mac users can't see my site at all. I went and looked at my AW website Stats and I'm getting very few mac user visitors.

Does anyone see a pattern here with those who can't navigate my site? Linc and BC do you have problems with other sites?

sorry, I don't know anything about macs. Is it the coding on my site? He said he has no problems on other sites.

I use Adobe Contribute to edit my site, could that be the coding issue? I've asked about this at the adobe forum but no reply yet.

Linc and BC do you have loading problems with other sites?

I went to the link you posted Linc but I can't make any sense of it not being a Mac user.

My original customer who can't view my site, he has no problems with other sites. I really need to find out why he and (it seems now) many others are having such a big loading problem with my site.

Is there another forum where I can post this question??

Keeping my fingers crossed someone can help :-)

Joe

The fact that some posters here can and can not access your site suggests that this is network (internet) rather than Mac related, more than likely a DNS issue.

All the users who have posted here will be using different ISPs and will be taking different routes to your website. The fact that some users can access a particular site (not just yours) is, unfortunately, a common internet problem.

My first course of action here would be see if your customer could switch to using a different DNS server from the one provided by his ISP. I sometimes have problems accessing some web sites and switch to either OpenDNS or Google DNS which usually solves the problem.

This post is intriguing...

1st time: Loaded no problems

2nd time: Loaded no problems

3rd time: Loaded about half way, then stopped, and images on the site did not load.

This almost suggests a problem with the ISP hosting your website.

To eliminate Safari as the culprit will you ask your customer to install either Firefox or Chrome and see what happens?
