1st gen Ipod Touch and icloud

How do I set up Icloud/find my phone/ipod, on my 1st gen ipod touch I have downloaded icloud for windows and am tring to log in wit my apple id and password but it comes back with my ID is valid but not an icloud acct??? HELP
