IPod Touch volume button is not working. When I turn up the volume it says headphones. Why can't I hear anything?

- Problem with headphones?

With speaker?

Both?

- Try inserting/removing the headphone plug about a dozen time

- Then try the following to rule out a software problem.

- Reset. nothing is lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup

- Restore to factory defaults/new IPod.

If still problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in ordr. You may have a defective headphone jack..
