Thank you for your help. I have deleted the account but it will not let me put my tiscali account in. I don't know how to access SSL advanced settings or is this only available once your account has been set up?

Thanks for letting me know about the wrong posting

I used good old fashioned trial and error and sorted it!!!!!!!!!!

Tiscali settings iPad

Add account

Other (provider)

Type

Name: Your own name choice

Email: your tiscali user name@talktalk.co.uk

Description: talktalk.co.uk

Then click next and choose imap option NOT POP3!!

Then change settings to tiscali.

Incoming mail server

Host name; iMap.tiscali.co.uk

Username;your user name@tiscali.co.uk

Password; your own password

Outgoing mail server

Smtp. Smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Username; leave blank

Password; leave blank

Primary server

Host name; smtp.tiscali.co.uk

Username;

Password;

Use Ssl ; off

Authentication; blank

Server port: 25

hope this works for you!!!!!!!!!

If you want to use your iPad with tiscali/pop mail servers I found that using .......

Out going server: pop.talktalk.net (not tiscali as the iPad automatically sets up)

In coming server: smtp.talktalk.net (again not tiscali as the iPad wants to use)

Then it will search for it and ask you if it need to be secure, tap YES

Hope this helps anyone

Hi

It was a long time ago now but......All i remember is that instead of using the correct email address ....@tiscali.co.uk. instead replace tiscali with talktalk so .....@talktalk.co.uk. it will then find talk talk servers as they own tiscali.

hope his helps.
