spotlight search on Time Capsule

Another apple question...please tell me that I can search data stored in my Time Capsule's drive...(spotlight)...otherwise, I will kill myself, then rise from the dead to return the TC and then kill myself again!!!

Hi,

If I can bring some good news to you, and if I can ultimately save your life, Spotlight does work very well when I "Enter Time Machine" on my own Time Capsule.

It just take a little bit longer to start a search than it does on my local Macintosh HD. I guess that the system needs to load or update the index or something, but otherwise, yes, it works.

It does also work for any other hard drive that you might want to connect using the USB port of your Time Capsule.

Enjoy the experience!

Thanks for your concern 🙂 I guess I was a bit frustrated having spent over an hour reading on forums what was wrong with spotlight.

I appreciate your quick response, however, you have to tell me how you got it to work, I left my search open with nothing happening !

Anyways, I went to my wife's PC and did my search there and found what I was looking for instantaneously .

i don't think there is a lag, there shouldn't be anyway....It just doesn't work on my MBP. So if you can tell me how you got it to work, I'd appreciate !

Another user had posted the same issue but no one got back to him...can't find the question anymore :S

Thanks again!
