Q: Track Pad not working

Mouse curser not working, reinstalled Leopard with no luck.

Curser worked fine with boot disc and seems to move until desktop loads, then freezes up.

Is the battery swollen? That can inhibit proper trackpad function.

Thanks Allan, but this was not the problem, won't work even with the battery out and running only on power supply. will work with a usb mouse but the track pad stops when desktop comes on.

Reset the trackpad by placing your entire palm directly onto the whole trackpad for 3 to 4 seconds, and then remove your hand from the trackpad in one smooth motion. In most cases, trackpad operation will return to normal.

Thanks, Texas Mac Man, but no luck doing that either.

But I got to track pad settings by using a USB mouse and it said track pad was disabled because keyboard shortcuts was active (or something like that) so I clicked on that and it fixed the problem.

Don't know how it got changed in the first place unless there is a key shortcut for that. My dog jumps up on me sometimes wile I'm on the computer and hits the keyboard, I'm blaming her......lol

Thanks for your response and I hope this will help others.
