iPod resets when I eject

I've done basically all that I could to get my 160GB 7th Gen iPod Classic 2.0.4 on iTunes 10.6.1 to sync my music (I've tried 1 song to 20GBs).

I've ran into multiple problems:

  1. I will sync 1 song or many songs and either 2 things will happen: (1) the iPod will sync the music (manually or automatically) (2) will get stuck in a syncing loop.
  2. When I eject the iPod, the iPod will crash right when the 'OK to disconnect' screen has completed.

Keeping in mind that i did a fresh reformat of the iPod with Disk Utility and a restore from iTunes:

Let's say if I was successful with part 1 (I put on several songs the iPod,) then I continue to eject my iPod to see if they show up correctly (the eject doesn't crash,) my iPod still doesn't recognize the music being "music," it lists it as "other." With this being said, when I plug my iPod into the computer (Mac 10.7.3) iTunes will recognize that I have music on my iPod and not just space taken up by this "other" data.

This is the stage I am at now:

😠 😕

I've done a lot of the suggestions of Verifying and Repairing the Disk, Reformatting the Disk in Journaled format, Restoring the iPod, and Hard Resetting it (Menu+Action Button.)

I hope someone has a result to this.

As you can see, high Realloc and most likely growing, and high Pending Sector, your Hardisk is dying , so better to bring it in to Apple store for the Genius to have a look and replace it.

I therefore wont suggest Hard Reset, Restore and Re-installing iTunes, or other good Sync guideslines, as it wont regenerate your Hardisk.

PS: if you do get a replacement, better do the DiskDiagnostic, to make sure you get a good disk, not someone else dying disk, the first 5 data should be zero or preferably less than 10.
