Q: I bought a new iPad at some unauthorized dealer. They said I needed to pay to activate it, registrate it and to activate the app such as youtube, facetime, itunes and the app store. Is this true?

Please help as I really don't know anything about this.

So, is it safe to assume that it is possible to activate it on your own?

And, one more, all of the box of the iPad contain the iPad, charger, and license. So, we don't need to buy license, activation and registration separately, right?

Yes. As you will see in the early part of the User Guide you can set it up by connecting it to iTunes on a computer or through iCloud. It is only a matter of following the prompts. But please take time to read the first couple of chapters of the Guide.

In addition to the User Guide, keep a note of this link which offers support on a whole range of matters -

Correct! You will get the opportunity to register your iPad as part of the setting up process. You can even register it later.

For your further information. Up until about 6 months ago you need a computer (and iTunes) in order to activate an iPad. This is no longer necessary with the introduction of iOS 5, or later. You can do it through iCloud (and wifi).

Personally, I do not use iCloud as there seems to be conflict at times. It can be turned on later through Settings.

There is likely sufficient charge in your iPad but just plug in the wall charger, press no buttons, let it charge for a while,, make yourself a cuppa and have a read at the User Guide.
