recently I have installed Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on my Bootcamp HD. It works like a charm. But I was wondering if it's possible to play the game from within Mac OSX Lion instead of rebooting my MacBook Pro into Windows 7 (Bootcamp).

Unless call of duty is available for Mac install, you will have to use Windows. You can buy
Parallels Desktop for Mac which will allow you to run Windows within MAC OS X without rebooting.
You'd have to purchase the OS X version, but I don't know if it would run under Lion.

...but with drastically impaired performance. High-powered gaming doesn't work well at all in virtual machines.
There is only a Call of Duty Modern Warfare for Mac which works great on lion by the way, unfortunately there is no Modern Warfare 2 for mac. Thanks.
I totally agree with that, it does impairer performance from my past experience with VM's. 🙂
