Battery will not charge past 87%

I have a 4 month old Powerbook G4. It has 36 charge cycles on the battery. For about two weeks now, no matter how long I leave on the battery adapter, it will not charge past 87%. One time it made it to 91% and then it dropped to 85% while on the adapter.

I have calibrated the battery twice and I have reset the PMU since the issue started.

Any ideas? Although my battery would never stay calibrated for two long, this issue begun after I upgraded to 10.4.5.

Hi

i sometimes also have this. The battery charges to a specific ammount, then stops, and the powerplug lights green, like the battery would be fully charged.

So plugin the plug in and out does nothing here.

But what i do is quite easy: I just remove the plug, and continue to work. Then, after a time the "Low Battery" warning will appear. i just ignore it. After this, the powerbokk will fall asleep. After this i just wait some more minutes, then i plug in the powerplug again, an then it charges to 100% as normal.

Perhaps your battery is already a little older? You can find out how many times your battery has been charged when you go to the "Systemprofiler" and then go to "PowerSupply". There it's displayed how many charging cycles your batterie already had.
