The Verisign Class 3 Public primary Certification Authority - G5 on my iphone does not match the one directly from Verisign

We have purchased SSL Certificates from verisign to do 802.1x authentication. However when attempting to connect I still receive the "Not Trusted" Certificate message. In testing I have e-mailed all of the seperate certs to myself to see for sure which one in the chain is not trusted. I find that the Root Certificate "Verisign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5" dated 11/7/2006 to 7/16/2036 is the one that mis matches the one in on my phone. I read that the key for the cert http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5012 doesnt match the one directly from Verisign therefore verisign cert isnt trusted.

How do I get apple to correct or add the correct verisign trusted root certificate?

To correct myself it is not that the certificate doesnt match. It is that the wireless supplicant doesnt seem to check apples trusted roots or installed profiles certs when doing eap-tls 802.1x authentication. With version 5.1(9b176)

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I'm having the same problem implementing a guest wireless network in my building and my IOS devices get the same message. Worse yet, each time my authentication fails over, the IOS devices are re-prompted with the message because the auth server has changed. Any suggestions?

And, BTW, since most IOS devices are guest or customer -owned, using the Configuration Utility to push a profile is not an option. Thanks.
