Red circle with diagonal line?
I have a iPod classic 5th generation. When connected to the computer it shows a flashing red circle with a diagonal line through it and the message "Do not disconnect" Is this normal?
It is telling you that your iPod is having a hardware problem, most likely, the Hardisk need to be replaced.
If you disconnect it from the PC and while doing a Reset, tap, the base of the iPod on the mouse Pad, the problem may go away temporarily, for you to recover your music, but it may not be able to sync or write any more music to the iPod.
