Broken Ipod?

My ipod touch was just in my bag and when i was getting my purse out, i could see that it was lit up and the whole screen was blank. then all these lines came up like it was loading but really slowly, and now its just a white blank screen. i have no idea what has happened and how to fix it!

anyone knows whats happened and how to fix it?

- Try a reset. Nothing is lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- The try to connect to your computer and try to restore via iTunes.

- If the screen remains white an \d you can't turn it off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour repeat the above.

- If screen is still white then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.
