deleting files or apps

I have a Macbook Pro and just updated to Lion. I'm still learning how to use Mac and might ask some stupid questions, so bear with me.

1. There's an app called Macui. Should I delete it? No idea what it's for.

2. There's something else called Akamai. Delete it? No idea what it's for.

3. Something called "check client status" - what is that??

I will probably have more questions as I figure this new format out. It's much more user friendly than the old version.
