I need to take a live rtsp feed(ipcamera) and transcode it into a live streaming http feed that will be viewable by employees with apple devices.

I am working on an app that I want to view live security IP camera feed on mobile devices (ios only)...Everything coded into the app has fallen short, So I am looking to transcode on a spare Lion Server. Would really appreciate some ingenious input

Mac OS X (10.7.3)

I don't think there's any easy way to do this.

RTSP used to be the protocol that Quicktime Streaming Server used. You MIGHT be able to download the source code for it (I think it was open souce), but you'd have to trick the server into thinking that the RTSP from the camera is the stream that it needs to broadcast.

Again, being open source, there's probably documentation about how the RTS protocol is drawn up on the server side.

Have a look here:

Hope it gives some direction.
