iCloud email will not work...still. Solutions? Please.....I'm desperate!!!

My iCloud email account was slow earlier. Now it claims to be sending and receiving emails but I sent an email to myself two hours ago and it appears in the sent category but not the inbox. This is the same across three devices. My iPad does not show the same level of update as my iPhone. Really irritated by the fact that there is no way to use express lane for iCloud. You have to link it to a device. What if I didn't have a device? Have any of you with the same issue found resolution? Close to 16 hours with no acknowledgement of a problem and no sign of a solution. Curious as to how many with this issue are former MobileMe customers? Wondering if that's a factor?

Mine is doing the same thing and has been for several hours. I first noticed it when it showed me all of a sudden over 50 email that I has deleted or read. I am also trying to figure out what to do and how to solve this.

Any advice would be great. I am closing on a house Friday and really need to be able to access email to finalize details and everything.

I contacted Apple directly by ExpressLane and:

  • There is a problem with the server
  • We are working on it
  • Try again in 15 hours, maybe it will be fixed by then

On this issue, and others, Apple is NOT forthcoming:

  • It does not notify customers of the problem
  • It does not articulated the cause of the problem when contacted
  • It does not provide a solution
  • It does not contact the customer after 'the fix' to explain what happened, and what the customer might need to do.

There are now several threads about this issue; Apple has us spread all over its message boards and is not providing any information.

Other customers had this problem in March 2012, and created several threads.

Apple ain't what it used to be. 😠

(Deal, Kent, UK) I've had no email service for the past 18 hours - Apple are reporting the problem with mail / icloud is affecting less that 1% of users - from looking at various threads this problem is happening in USA, Canada, Australia, NZ and also here in UK it seems a far bigger problem - when will Apple give some honest information about the extent of the issue and an estimate as to how long it will be before the mail service is fully restored?

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple is under attack, maybe a DDoS. If so, it would make sense that Apple is keeping quiet about it. DDoS is all about creating publicity and embarrasment. It seems to me that the problem is a much wider one that Apple is prepared to admit. My email has been down for two days now. The account seems to be struggling to authenticate and log in. Check your activity monitor to see if you are getting the same problem. In the meantime, hello Gmail.

One other note. Has anyone recently been forced to change their password on the MobileMe/iCloud account? It seems that Apple introduced (but did not announce) a higher minimum level of password security. The usual kind of thing. More than seven characters, at least one capital letter and one number. I figured this out because my password was rejected by iCloud mail and I was forced to change it. It was then that I realized that the previous password did not meet this new criteria. I changed the password an I was back up and running. Then I had to do the same in iTunes, iMessage, iChat, iTunes Connect, the developer forums, Facetime, Gallery, Aperture, iPhoto, AppStore, TimeCapsule and in System Preferences.

I'm thinking perhaps this wholesale chnge of the password system has something to do with this Authentication issue. Who knows. I'm all spinning pinwheel and Gmail right now.....

I am in the UK. My Apple mail has not been working properly since last night. I haven't received any new e-mails since early yesterday evening. Today, e-mails I had already read and ones I tried to delete kept coming back in my inbox as unread. Mail is not working across iMac, iPhone or when I login online to iCloud. At first, on the iMac, it kept telling me to authenticate my account and sign back in, which was happening every few minutes. When I logged in online via iCloud it was being slow and not loading properly.

Now on the iMac it says my account is offline and when I try to take it back online it does nothing at all and mail via icloud.com won't load at all! Hugely annoying and frustrating as I use this as my work e-mail.

SORT IT OUT PLEASE APPLE.

I am experiencing the same thing. Last night I took some notes on my iPhone 4S last night and they showed up in my inbox but then I took some notes this morning and I expected them to later be on my iPad but they were not. I then went on to my computer and got a message "Enter Password for Account 'iCloud'". I typed it in and the error message came back up. I then went to the iPad and it said that my iCloud account password had not been entered. But when I put it in, it did sync some of my former notes to the iPad but not the ones that I had recently changed. Regardless, it is a really frustrating because I do rely on my products syncing for my work. It is embarassing to show up to a meeting with a client and not have the necessary notes.

I am in Orlando, Florida and the same thing happens to me. I have not received a new email since yesterday's evening. I switched all the ingoing/outgoing ports on the mail app, tried to log-in through icloud (it freezes and asks me to send a notification to apple.....useless in my opinion).

Ironically...the very last email that my @mac.com account received was received on my blackberry.

I will change all my log-ins back to my gmail account. This is so very frustrating. I cannot depend on apple only because "i really like my @mac address". Productivity outweighs any aesthetically pleasing mail address.

iCloud email will not work...still. Solutions? Please.....I'm desperate!!!
