    Samething happend to me last night.  Someone changed my region and downloaded 6 free apps in iTunes

    Same here!!!! I got an email yesterday saying my questions had been changed to, but no one signed into out account has changed anything. This does not make me comfortable at all. How come the only ones replying to this issues are more people have issues and no one from APPLE?

    Sounds stupid, but I had a false alarm.  My wife changed it from her iPhone (our iTunes account is shared).


    But I do agree that security questions should be reset-able.  Otherwise, what's the point of resetting my password?

    You'll have to get through the gauntlet by pressing 0 at strategic times, and when they ask for a serial number you won't have one so don't put one.


    When you get to a human, explain what happened and eventually they will get you to the right place/person and things will get fixed.


    That's how I got my situation fixed.

    What country are you in? I am in Australia. Do you call those numbers from anywhere and are they a free call?


    Did the Apple guy give any indication about what was causing this problem for so many people? Does Apple have a plan or solution?

    I have just rang Apple in Australia: 1300 321 456.

    I explained situation and he (Joel in Australia) was very helpfull.

    He was aware of situation and frustrations and explained to me the cause, he was unable to rectify problem at his level but he talked me through sending an email to Apple (behind the scenes tech support).


    This is the text of my email:


    'I have attempted to update my security questions as I am unable to answer the original question, can I please have some assistance with this as I can't access my account.'


    Joel has said based on that email, someone from Apple will fix the problem.


    My path on Apple.Com was:


    Support>iTunes>Account&Billing>Account Security>Get Account Help With Express Lane>iTunes Store Account Security.

    Enter info requested, for country choose 'Other' option then a list of countries will appear.

    Choose email, fill in details and send.

    I was given the same response about emailing itunes from Apple.   As yet have had no response from them.

    However,  before I could get through to them and while I was trying to find out how to reset security questions, I received a msg on my phone to say I had won 900,000 pounds in Apple Inc. Mobile Promo, with a claim code and wanted me to email my details to an email address. 


    Surely this was no coincidence.   Does this mean apple's security has been compromised.   If they have my mobile number do they have my credit card details as well.   Has this happend to anyone else with the security questions problem?

    this apple experience is really freaking me out. I've been a PC user since the 80's and was always told by Apple users how safe apple was. The last couple o years I decided to give it ago and was until recently thinking things were great. I have  an IPad and IPhone. The last two weeks havek been a. nightmare. All the help seems to be flimflam. You get email about changes, you send back a specific question and then you get bombard with links to everything Apple but no answer.

    I am still trying to solve the issues about these security questions and too scared to buy any more apps and now I have been sent another issue about the cloud only being Beta and I have to join something else to get my documents back.


    I updated to the latest version of the operating system and now it seems to be being suggested that everything is now in the clouds under a beta system. If I want my stuff. back I need to join some other version of  what ever? I tried .replying to Apples email but got sent back HEAPS of links.


    Because of the issues with the security questions I am not sure whether Apple has been compromised, they do not care or what not do.




    Maybe one of our US cousins could get onto their congressman.

    Same problem here.  Today I got an email saying that my security questions have been changed.  Went to, password and security and there's a link below the questions to receive instructions.  The email is sent to your rescue email address.  The problem is that the rescue email address there is not mine.  It says  And I can't change the rescue email address if I don't know the answers to the security questions!!!!!!  And so far I haven't received an answer from apple.

    Same story here I got the email from apple so I went to go check what had happened and tried to change my password but, they changed my security question/answers and I cant reset them because they put a different email. The email I dont know which they changed to is Apple, what the h***?

    So based on eveything I read so far.. the only person who actually got their stuff together was the one who called applecare. MY APPLECARE EXPIRED. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY 10$+ FOR ONE TIME CALL. IS THIS HOW THEY PLAN TO MAKE EXTRA MONEY LAIHSDIUHWE(*WHGOASUILDHASKFBH

    I've just received following from Apple:


    "Thank you for replying. We have made necessary adjustments, so that you can set up your security question(s) immediately. You can change your security question(s) here:

    Thank you for your understanding and patience. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to assist you.

    Have a nice day!."


    I logged in and I was able to change my Security Questions.


    It also said I could choose my own questions but I could'nt do that so I've asked for furher help on that. But as far as I'm concerned, all is well now.

    I think I get your drift. It would be interesting to know what products make the most money. Those that work or those with bugs; pay to fix what you thought you bought. Is that what you where inferring.

    But unfortunately You have answer the old questions first. I am really surprised because I always thought our American cousins had a really aggressive press And yet I have not heard anything about this mess.
