Q: New Security Questions

I was trying to make a few purchases from iTunes but was redirected to a page requesting that I set up security questions. I have no interest in making up fake answers to questions that I won't remember later on or in providing any real data about myself. If this is indeed being required by Apple and is not some type of malware attack how long before we can find a workaround so I can make my purchases?

I'm not sure what answers I gave to my security questions now.  I wonder how hard it will be to change it so I can get full control of my account again.

In the interim, I suggest apple users and apple themselves read this article:  http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/08/apple-amazon-mat-honan-hacking/

These security questions is everything but secure. If one is truthful, someone can figure out the answers by researching the person's history. And making fake answers - well, there will be a lot of recovering from the backup mail, for many people, I reckon...

THIRTY YEAR USER ABOUT TO QUIT MACS BECAUSE OF THE HORRIBLE WAY THEY HANDLE THE SECURITY QUESTIONS AND DON'T OFFER ANY WEEKEND SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the answers AND TYPED THEM IN but I must have had a space or a capital or something else because it says I was wrong, and no one is available help until tomorrow! I've had macs since they were 128K (the very first mac) and system 1.0 but I'm about to go to windows where I have a little freedom and I can get what I need when I need it. I can't work today because they locked me out of my account.

I am actually trying to replace my damaged iphone through my insurance. My insurance claim asked me to remove the device from icloud, but because I didn't answer the questions correctly it has blocked me. As far as the credit card info and purchase, I haven't made one in a long time and I have replaced my card so it may not be the one on file. I can provide you with my name, birthdate, and address, is that enough info?

You already know that you are talking to fellow users on these user-to-user forums, and not iTunes Support nor Apple.

Ok. I'm starting to question the way Apple security work... They didn't really make it easy for users who forgot their password or their Apple ID (In my situation it's both) I mean don't get me wrong here I'm grateful and everything to even have an iPad, but what good is it if  you forgot your password/id? and what's even more annoying is the security questions. If you don't remember your Apple ID or your password then they do give you the option to answer the security code. It asked me for my birthday and it still wouldn't let me in. I think I know my own birthday. Now I know why people say Apple isn't the best thing on earth. I lost my iPad a long time ago and just recently found it. I've been trying to get into it ever since. The only thing Apple told me is that I basically spent $300 dollars for a security question that's so hard to break it gives me a free migraine. Thanks Apple
