Extend my iMac to my Macbook Pro.

I have seen a lot of "Want Multiple Monitors on my MBP" articles. I want to do the reverse. I want to have my MBP in clamshell mode, and access it and run it from my iMac.

The MBP has a 15 inch screen. I have a 27 inch iMac. Can I run a remote desktop session from the iMac to the MBP? One which will allow me to manage the business applications on the MBP while having the display on the iMac?

I wnat to do this because I do NOT have enough real estate for multiple monitors. I do not want to do the KVM switch route since I am already using a Wireless keyboard and pad on the iMac. What woudl be ideal is a Remote Full terminal session in an active window with full GUI to the window.

Is this something that can be done through Thunderbolt? This would allow very high speed, and still have security. (Nothign broadcase or over a network connection.)

I do not want a KVM switch (I know how those work and I am wanting to remain wireless. So no KVM)

and I do not have real estate for 2nd monitor.

Thank you all

Look at turning Screen Sharing on in your MBP and then running it over your LAN from the iMac.

Preferences > Sharing > Screen Sharing.

This is a remote desktop session. However you later negate this by saying (Nothing broadcase or over a network connection).

Otherwise, I know of nothing where you can share a MBP over Thunderbolt (only) from an iMac.
