Cannot empty trash -8003

I cannot empty trash on the boot disk. I get error code -8003. The items I threw in there were the Timemachine backup files. I tried: " sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/* ", but to no avail. I'm running osx server 10.6.8. I ran repair permissions from disk utility. I also ran disk warrior 4.4 (latest update). suggestions?
