Does anyone know anything about the NewMobileMe host for iWeb? Not associated with Apple and new to marketplace. Still investigating easy and reliable host replacement for iweb.

The name of the service is misleading since it doesn't actually offer any of the features that are specific to Apple's MobileMe such as...

Password protection

Blog and photo comments

Blog search

Hit counter

MobileMe Gallery

... and I can't imagine why anybody would want a URL like

http://newmobileme.com/myusername/mysitename

... rather than use a personal domain name.

Most other companies will offer competitive pricing along with, at least, one free Domain name registration.

The most important feature of any company is the availability and quality of 24/7 tech support in your language of choice. Any new company would have to prove themselves in this area before I would recommend it.

If you really don't want a personal domain name you can use the hosting shown on this page which is free!

I decided to go with HostExcellence. Your Tutorial was too confusing, so I called Host Excellence after I signup up online, and they walked me through the setup on the apple iweb page and I transferred my domain name to them too so that the host and domain registrations would be synced in future. It took less than one hour and it was nice to talk to people I could understand and who were patient with someone not too computer savvy. iweb works just like it always did before. I'm happy, so thanks for the suggested host. I went with the basic 3 years at the promotional price of 3.95/mo.
