How do I round numbers derived from a percentage formula?

I am creating an estimate sheet in Numbers '09. I have a combination of hard numbers and percentages of numbers (sub totals, etc.) in my estimate column. I would like to know how , based on a percentage formula such as =(D23*0.12), I can control the actual figure through rounding up or down (either .00 decimals or into the 000's). Is there a rounding formula attached to this percentage formula or somehow an extension of the percentage formula?

Thank you

OK, I'm getting how this works:

If the formula "=(D24*0.12)" yields $10,184.00 and I want to ROUNDUP to the nearest 100, the formula works like this "=ROUNDUP(D24*0.12, -2)" with the "-" identifying the number of digits to the left of the decimal point to replace with zeros (the number of zeros at the end of the number). In this example $10,184.00 becomes $10,200.00.

If there are any other tricks here, I'd love to hear more. Thanks in either case.

Hi Hy,

I don't understand why you would want to display the two zeroes after the decimal point in a number that has been rounded to the hundreds place.

Here's the result of your formula with cell format left at Automatic. C2 contains your formula (revised to refer to the cell in column B, rather than D24); C3 contains the same formula without ROUNDUP applied.

C2: =ROUNDUP(B2*0.12, -2)

C3: =B3*0.12
