Apr 19, 2012 12:54 PM in response to VENTANILLA 97by VENTANILLA 97,My iPod had the latest version of iTunes already. When I select my iPod in iTunes and go to the MUSIC tab, the SYNC MUSIC option there has no "Selected Playlist" nor "Voice Memos" selection shown. (All that appears is "Entire Music Library" (which is selected), "Selected Playlists, Artists, Albums and Genres", (which is not selected) and "Include Music Videos" (which is selected)). Also the SYNC MUSIC option was never selected, so I can't deselect it. So I'm not having much luck so far....

Apr 19, 2012 1:54 PM in response to VENTANILLA 97by planb77,Hmm. Do you sync podcasts to your device? If so, disable that setting so that podcasts are removed from your device during the next sync with iTunes and see if that resolves the issue.
Otherwise, some users have been able to fix it by rebuilding their iTunes library. See here for instructions on how to do this.

Apr 20, 2012 10:19 PM in response to VENTANILLA 97by VENTANILLA 97,I have never sync'd podcasts on my iPod. I feel the problem is in the iPod itself since my 4th generation iPod works perfectly and I'm afraid to mess with my iTunes library since it did disappear once. I did notice that the problem started appearing after I upgraded my iMac from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Could that have something to do with the problem?

Apr 21, 2012 7:39 AM in response to VENTANILLA 97by planb77,At this point, it might be a good idea to restore your iPod Nano to factory settings to see if that helps. A bit trickier when this error only happens with one of your two iPods.

Apr 22, 2012 6:50 PM in response to planb77by VENTANILLA 97,Since my iPod has problems syncing with the iTunes library when I try to add songs from the library to the iPod, do you think I will have problems syncing when I try to restore the iPod after erasing all of the contents of the iPod?

Apr 24, 2012 4:15 PM in response to VENTANILLA 97by julianfrommeridian,Hello VENTANILLA 97,
Doing a restore on an iPod is sometimes the fix. It can fix it, or it has the potential of showing you it has a hardware issue. Either way recovering your media should be 1st and foremost.
If you have restore issues. Just post back here.
Hope this helps.
