Q: Upgraded to 10.6 and now it wont lauch

Ive also updated quicktime now, and it opens fine. Thought it might help but so far no luck.

I should also metion when I tried to update it with the Apple Software update, it says that each thing I am trying to update has an invalid signature and that the download has been deleted. It says if this problem persists go to tools and select download only, and when I do it for quick time, it still says the same thing, but itunes is no longer on the list, it knows I already have it, its just not working

It says to hold down shift and crtl and open itunes to run it in safe mode. It doesnt seem to do anything when i do that either.

I havent tried making a new user account for Windows XP but Ive never had any other use account then this, and Id rather not make one because I dotn want multiple accounts on my computer, I want to ahve one and I want itunes to work on it. There should be a way to have Itunes with out having multiple user accounts on my computer.

It looks like its just a diagnosing method so lets just assume its System wide and go from there.

Ive run MS config to ensure that no third party programs are interfering with Itunes

Ive deleted the SC info folder too as stated here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1776

I shoudl also point out that in my earlier efforts to remedy the problem i deleted everything apple. The only one that isnt back on my list is quicktime because the itunes download I am downloading doesnt have quicktime with it.

I cant see a Quicktime tab on apples website either.

It would be fine if I got an error as to why itunes wont open but I dont, its just nothing happens.

Another thing to mention, when i re instal quick time, click the start menu, i get the usuall "a new program has been installed" where as when I try to un install and re install i tunes, I dont get that message.

Is there any way to step back to a version that I could atleast use on my ipod before, if I cant use it on my phone, whatever, but now I dont have an itunes for my ipod which is not acceptable...
