installation always failes at 'writing scripts' 'error occured'. have tried via software update and downloaded package from 'support'. same happens when trying to re-install adobe flashplayer or camera update from 'software update'....

can't install Java update, not via 'software update', nor via download from Apple support site. Always get error message at 'writing scripts', even with the camera update. Same thing happens when trying to re-install Adobe flash-player, which I had uninstalled after virus threat. Seems I can't install anything anymore...had previously un-installed everything Java in Safari and run Mackeeper duplicate eraser....can anybody help?

Yes, but it requires an empty volume on the internal or an external disk. On first boot, you can choose whether to migrate or not. if you choose not to, note that you'll have to recreate all your user account, install 3rd-party and Apple pro apps, and reset all your preferences, which could take an extremely long time.
