I have an iPhone 4S that I am restoring from an iCloud backup. The estimated time is 6 hours. If I leave the phone alone, the screen goes off after a few minutes. Will the restore continue even when the phone goes on stand-by?

I've tried keeping it awake, I've made sure it's plugged in, and it's on my own Wifi network.
Any luck with getting yours to work? I'm having the same issue. Actually, just a few hours before I was able to restore with no issue. I had to redo the restore and now I keep getting that screen. When before it would go straight and tell me I had 45 mins to go, now it's always going to 2 hours. My WiFi isn't the issue since it's a 30mb download / 3mb upload, and I've tried speedtest.net and it's still giving me those numbers. I'm thinking it's Apple's servers that are giving timeout errors right now. ;(
Had to do a fresh restore, WiFi iCloud restore never finished. Plugged phone in, made sure my WiFi connection was active, left it overnight... nothing worked. iCloud restore kept timing out. Definitely not one of my fondest memories of Apple products/services.
Same here. I was happy with Apple this morning, when they replaced my iPhone 4s with a brand new one, because the speakers gave out. I tried to do a system restore from a backup I made yesterday, but it keeps reverting to my first backup, made last year. I opted to do an iCloud restore, and I keep getting the "Your iPhone could not be restored because you are no longer connected to the Internet" error. I've attempted this 6 times now and I'm getting ready to give up.
No. What kind of fantasy world do you think we live in, where Apple would offer it's big iCloud service, and allow you to stay connected to the server long enough to restore from a backup without having to manually touch the screen every minute or two for up to 6 hours while your phone restores?
Please, it's only 2014. Technology that advanced only exists in Apple's advertisements. Not in their actual products.
Yes, but you should plug in to the wall charger so that your Wi-Fi doesn't go to sleep.
