how to map a Time Capsule drive to Windows 7 Laptop

Hello,

I'd like to map a drive at my Windows 7 Laptop from the TC.

Normally it has to be set automatically by connecting to the TC, as was told.

I can connect by Wifi and can communicate with Airport Utility with the TC.

Tried already to map de Z:\ drive at the Windows explorer with 'Network mapping', but can't find the drive!

Can anybody tell me how to?

Regard,

Cees

Open the TC and make sure you set the workgroup correctly.. on the disk file sharing page.

It makes life easier if you have setup guest network to on and allow read and write access.. in most home situations this is no big dead security wise. If not possible you may have user and permissions issues.

Create a new directory so that it is available using windows explorer.. and then try mapping that particular folder to the computer not the root folder.

It also is worth btw to make sure the wireless name and TC name follow SMB standard.. not AFP standard.

So all names should be short, no spaces, no special characters.. ie pure alphanumeric.

I would also lock the channels and set different wireless name to 5ghz.
