I had my Iphone replaced and lost my Itunes and photos, will Itunes have copies in my itunes account?

My iphone was replaced as it was defective, during the switch, the Apple Store claimed they could not save my itunes or photos from the old iphone.

Shouldnt there be a back-up in my itunes library? and if so, how do I access that to download in my new iphone?

iPhone 3G, Windows 7

Check this Apple article out -> iOS: How to back up

If you've created a backup, you can right click your iPhone in iTunes and choose Restore from Backup.

The backup would not contain your itunes content or pics synced from computer to iphone.
