trouble connecting to iTunes

My iPhone has been completely messed up since I have tried to start using my iCloud. When I plug my phone into the computer it immediately opens iphoto instead of iTunes. I have tried to reset my apple id and it says it resends my email but i don't get it. It is so odd- it is driving me crazy. I want to be able to load songs on my phone and I can't!
