Help! My ex got the pictures.

My wife and I split up. She got the imac which has Aperture 1 and about 60,000 pics. I now have a macbook pro and would like to buy Aperture 3 and get my library into it. Also, because it's such a large library I am thinking I should run it "referenced" from an external hard drive. What do I have to do to make this transfer smooth and painless? Any and all help will be appreciated. This kind of stuff scares the bejeesuz out of me.

I have seen reports of users with AP 1.5.x libraries successfully upgrading the library after installing AP 3.

Tips on upgrading library here (although written for AP2, should be pertinent):

As always, backup the original first. 😉
