When I try to turn on the iCloud backup for my iPhone 4s via iTunes i get this error message:
"iTunes could not turn on iCloud backup for the iPhone "iphone name here" Check that you are signed into iCloud on this iPhone"
I have deleted the iCloud account from the iPhone and reinstalled, but has not helped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, then I don't know what the issue may be.

Best to perform a backup in iTunes before experimenting 😉
(right-click on your iPhone in iTunes and choose 'Back Up')
If the 'account' thing doesn't help, then I suggest firing an email off to Apple Support.
I've used them a couple of times and have had an excellent service both times.
I had the same issue. I simply could not select iCloud backup in iTunes.
I then went into Settings on my iPhone, chose iCloud, Storage & Backup, and chose iCloud Backup ON.
That solved my problem.
ie. don't do this from iTunes - do it from the iPhone itself.
I actually don't have that option to selecet storage and backup on my phone under the below settings. Not sure why this is?
Do you have iOS5?
Is Wifi turned on?

Great questions! I'm on wifi and using IOS 5.1. I don't have the backup and storage option even available. It shows up on my iPad all fine and dandy. Not sure what to do besides restoring my phone?
I'm going to fire off the email. I haven't quite figured it out yet. I know at one point I had two accounts, but eliminated the .me. I'll update after I hear back from apple support.
No update on this issues - having my .me email and other email is def the cause on this one.
