MacMini Printing Problems

Hello:

Using an HP Photosmart Premium 410a with MacMini (Snow Leopard). We use both Firefox 11.0 and Safari 5.1.5. Browsers When we print multiple pages from an article, the first pages prints out (and shows in Preview) a smaller size font then the rest of the pages from the same article. We have tried various tests (resetting the printer, reinstalling the latest HP software, reinstalling each of the browsers, running Permissions),

but so far, this problem continues to occur. We have also used both a USB and a Network connection.

This has only been occuring when we print articles directly from various web article pages (PDF files print fine as do other printed items that are downloaded)

Any input on this greatly appreciated.

Thank you

We have now found a rather interesting situation that we did not realize before:

The font size problem is only occuring on my wifes side of Firefox.

To better clarify, my wife and I have seperate profiles for Firefox which we access via the

Profile Manager - this problem is only happening on the web sites she looks at via her profile.

I have checked my Preferances and of course hers, and can find no differance in the selections

in either perferance.

I'm not sure what my great work is, but, thank you.

We did check out the Page Setup, my wifes is set a scale 60 % and mine is at 100% - we really thought

this was the problem. Except that when we changed hers to 100 % all it did was increase all the

print sizes from the web sites.

In other words, yes, it enlarged the font size for the first page, but, it also enlarged the font size

for the rest of the pages - so, the font size on the first page still remains smaller then the rest of

the pages.

Could this situation/problem have something to do with her profile? I'm starting to think that because

this is only happening on her side/profile - that perhaps, somehow there is something about the profile

that is causing it

Well it actually seems to have worked. I dumped my wifes Profile folder (saving her bookmarks) and set up a new profile. We checked the main web site that we were getting the font size problem from and it

seems to be corrected now.

There was something a bit strange about the Bookmarks, I found her Bookmarks in the Cache folder

in her her Profile folder - wereas, my Bookmarks are located directly inside my Profile folder.

Could her Bookmarks being in her Cache folder cause a problem?

Thank you - It is good to hear that from an experienced person!

Now we have found another problem!!

We discovered (early this morning) that all of our Firefox Bookmarks that we draged from the URL Address Box to the Desktop have somehow been converted from the saved bookmark to our Firefox Start Page, the names an the desktop bookmark icons appear normal. However, all of Bookmarks that are stored in the Firefox Bookmarks drop down menue are normal. As we have not looked at any of the desktop bookmarks in the last 4-months, they were deffinatley placed on the desktop with an earlier version of Firefox (our current version is 11.0).

We are not trying to recover the desktop bookmarks, but, we would like to know what may have happened to cause this for future refferance.

Thanks again.

The FF Preferances Start/Home page is set to open to BBC News.

The URL's that we draged to the Desktop to act as Bookmarks are Icons that just sit it a folder on the Desktop. When the Mac starts up and opens to the Desktop, the folder that contains the Icons/Bookmarks is always there - we have to open the folder and select an Icon/Bookmark to go to

what we thought was a saved URL site, but instead all of these Bookmarks/Icons have been converted

so that no matter which one we select, we get the BBC News page.
