Why is my iPad asking for additional security information with a popup screen when trying to install apps. You have to answer 3 questions with answers...what if the questions they want you to answer don't exist. Is this for real or something else

Calling this enhanced security is analogous to the secure feeling one gets by leaving a key under the mat at the back door so that you don't get locked out. Why would you secure an account by asking questions that for most people, would take 5 minutes on there facebook page to figure out? This is a joke. As it stands now I will not be installing any more apps so long as this is mandatory. I refuse to provide this info. And for those who say enter fake info, do you really think you will remember what you put down in 4 years? Save it in a text file.... Another great idea to secure your account. I have been an apple fanboy for YEARS!!!!!! This is the biggest screwup ever.

The best part is when I tried to purchase an App today, after entering my password, they asked for my security info WITHOUT THE QUESTIONS! How to heck am i supposed to remember an answer to a question I'm not presented to? What the **** is wrong with Apple? I can understand the additional security requirements, but come on! You need to ask a question to get an answer! Why bother asking us to choose the questions if you are not going to ask them?

My speculation is that there are increased rates of refund/chargeback calls from iTunes accounts with one-click purchase on, Apple is using this security measure as a preventive tool to prevent excessive chargebacks & refunds by making sure one-click users are absolutely rational about their purchases.

Do you have one click on in your case?

I do not experience this issue as my one-click is off, purchase of apps be it free or paid only only requires password verification in my case. All I have to is simply to re-type my CCV if I were to use my iTunes account on a new device.

My advice: Turn one-click off.

Maybe on your Facebook page, but certainly not on mine. I don't have the first car I ever owned on there. I don't have the job I liked the least. And I don't have the car I liked the most on there. All three questions are ones no one on the planet could get right.

What the heck? "What colour socks was your Dad wearing when you were born?" Can anyone think of any more bizarre, no-idea-what-the-answer-is questions?

I was quite happy with the exisiting security provision. If Apple can't revert to this, then I'm just going to sit tight until they review the question list and make it a bit more 'normal'. The current list is not helpful.

Oh and by the way Apple - a little bit of explanation to your customers might help!

I'm enraged by this so-called security feature. Why, if I want to buy something, should I be forced to SET UP security questions?

I'll calm down about it if I can find a way to enter them on my computer version of iTunes, but so far I'm failing. Is there a way, or am I locked out of in-app purchases until such time as I'm willing to do a lot of typing on my iPhone keyboard?
