23" cinema problem (probably left it on too long)

First I thought there was a problem with the monitor not properly displaying vertical lines. But now I see what's going on, because the montior was -I guess- left on too long I see the imprint of the Safari start screen. Is there any way to help to get rid of this effect or am I stuck with it?
