Since I upgrade my iphone 3gs to ios 5.1, I have several problems with network and wi-fi, any solution? (No jailbreak)
Most of the time the iphone cannot reach any network and when it can, there is no data transfer, I can only make calls and sms.

Apr 20, 2012 3:20 AM in response to Skizofreniasby JohnPatrick,★Helpful5.1 for the 3GS is buggy. But in time it will settle down a bit. The best thing to do is to restore as a new phone and doing that will keep it from doing that. It's because the location settings go into sleep mode much quicker now with 5.1 and that along with Wifi will sometimes forget to turn back on. It is because the phone has a smaller ram memory than a 4s so this could be problematic. You can also try and reset network settings and input your wifi passwords and such to start anew. That's a quick fix. Hopefully that will resolve your problem. I have a 3GS 32 Gb and the only way I got it to work smoothly was to restore via iTunes and trashed the backup. All new settings were the best way to go.

Apr 20, 2012 3:26 AM in response to JohnPatrickby JohnPatrick,It happens a lot. I just hard reset to get wifi working again. My no wifi find started when I synced to a blue tooth stereo and the wifi didn't work anymore. The hard reset made everything kosher for the time being. I believe by keeping the network settings fresh, ei like if your phone is having to remember too many wifi hotspots, it will manifest worst as time goes on.

Wi-fi problem is not the main problem, it is 3G. Do you have also problems with 3G network?

Apr 20, 2012 4:44 AM in response to Skizofreniasby JohnPatrick,Reset network settings and that should resolve 3G connection problem. Are you using the original carriers sim? You also could be in an area with no coverage because of a thick building or poor signal from sim from wear and tear. Also signal problems could be from damaged iphone.
Did you have it recently repaired by an unauthorized source?

Apr 20, 2012 4:54 AM in response to JohnPatrickby Skizofrenias,Yes, I´m using original SIM and reset network setting does not solve the problem.
This are have enough coverage before upgrade to IOS 5.1...
No repair at all.
Thanks anyway!

Apr 20, 2012 5:05 AM in response to Skizofreniasby JohnPatrick,Really. Hmmm. Which carrier? ATt? H20? If you are using a non supported carrier, it won't find the internet part. You'd have to manually input the APN SETTINGS or call your carrier to push activate the internet part. They will ask you for you emei number.

Apr 20, 2012 5:19 AM in response to JohnPatrickby Skizofrenias,Simyo, Spanish one. Yes, I put the APN settings manually. I contact the mobile company and I'm waiting for his response.
Thanks again
