Q: Image Capture and Epson scanner

I cannot use Image Capture together with my Epson scanner.

The scanner is connected to the power supply.

If I start Image Capture I got a window with th text ''No camera or scanner selected''. The window is empty. I cannot select a device and the device list it empty to.

I looked in my System Preferences tab Print & Fax. In the list I see my scanner. I deleted my scanner and reinstalled it. No result.

How can I install the scanner in the device list of Image Capture?

My installation: iMac Intel OS X 10.6.8. Epson scanner Perfection V350 Photo.

The solution is:
1. delete 'com.apple.Image_Capture.plist in user>library>preferences
2. restart
3.start Image Capture

This solved my problem.

Try as I might, I can't find the com.apple.Image_Capture.plist anywhere in my computer. In fact, I don't find library listed under users, only under Macintosh HD. Once I figure out that problem (if it is a problem), I'll try your suggestion. Thanks again.

Click on the house (HOME)>Library>Preferences.
