Multiple Apple IDs

We are all aware of how easy it is to accidentally create multiple IDs and we are also aware of the problems that ensue. I just came across a new issue where Apple actually requires multiple IDs!

If your Apple ID Name is the same as your email address AND it is either a dot-mac or a dot-me address, you can NOT edit the address! This is not a problem UNLESS you have decided (for unrelated reasons) that you no longer wish to use that email address.
