upgraded to Lion and Cloud from mobile me and now E-mail account shows messages but no way to open them.

I have done the upgrade to Lion and my mobile me account went to Icloud. Now the E-mail account shows up on the MacBook but I have no way to actually open the messages. I have checked the settings and still can't find where it would fix the problem. The messages can be seen by my Iphone 4s and by my ipad. The unfornuate thing is I need my Laptop to get messages as well. There are pending E-mails showing in the account on the MacBook just no ability to open them.

Settings on account read:

p99-imap.mail.me.com then user name and password.

Descritpion is MobileMe and E-mail address is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
