I've had this Macbook pro given to me a year ago and have only recently started to use it. I've had to reset the login password as my friend could not remember the password she had put a year ago. now i am being asked for the keychain password and it keeps saying wrong password. when I tried to go on to keychain access it wont even open!! What's gong on!? HELPPPP

I guess if this were happening to me, I would try the following.
Go to the home Library folder (by holding down option key in the Finder Go menu and selecting Library). Go to the Keychains folder. Move login.keychain somewhere else (the trash, the desktop). See if Keychain Access will start.

can't do that as the keychain access is not opening 😟
The keychain password might be the former password.
If you don't know the keychain password, you probably have to reset the keychain.

You are in the Finder (it says so on the upper left of your screen). Open the menu called "Go". With that menu open, press and hold your option key (also called the alt key). You should see a menu entry called Library appear.

it just acts like its going to open than nothing...
What happens when you try to open it?

Well, there is also com.apple.keychainaccess.plist in the Preferences folder in that Library folder. Maybe the same treatment for that file?
