Using aperture 3.2. How do I convert my photos back to high mg count so I can upload to a site for printing LARGE?

Help. Is it possible to convert my manipulated images (which were originally shot in RAW format) and manipulated with "plug ins/COLOR EFEX PRO" in my APERTURE 3.2 program on mac... back to a high mg count? It seems they got diluted with each layer I added. When I uploaded them to a website for BIG CANVAS printing they arrived at that site watered down to 2.-4. mgs. When they started at 18 to 20mgs.

Please I need help. Thanks.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Aperture3 with a colorEfex edit

How did you export your images from Aperture to upload them to the website?

If you simply drag an image from the Aperture window to the Desktop only the low-resolution preview will be exported.

I doubt that the edits in an Aperture plug-in will "water down" the resolution of an image. Aperture's lossless workflow should ensure that the high resolution will be preserved. So use the Aperture export panel together with an high resolution export preset (Tiif original size) to upload your images.

Thanks. I really appreciate it.

I did indeed drag the photos from my light table to the upload design portion of the website. So, that answers part of the problem.

The other... I did realize that if I export and resize the photo in MOST cases I can get almost recapture the exact clarity.

You were very helpful.

Thanks again. I'm new to this" asking questions of others" way of doing things. I usually stumble through.

I'm learning.

You are welcome. 🙂

Can you give an example of the cases that still look "diluted"? What image format do you use to send the images to the plug-in (in the Aperture Preferences -> Export: psd or tiff, 8bit or 16 bit), and which export do you use when exporting from Aperture?

export and resize the photo

What do you mean? 😕 At which stage of your workflow do you resize, and how exactly?
