Never put liquid in your ipod.
From the basics section of the manual:"
Don’t use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean iPod touch. "

Water and electronics do not mix, so the chances are your iPod is toast.
